Career Planning Series - Everyone Has a Place to Shine!

Choosing subjects for further education and making career decisions are annual "crossroads" that high school or prospective graduates face. If students opt for professional degrees (such as Medicine, Law, etc.), they need a clear direction to understand their future career paths. However, students who pursue general degree programs may feel regretful and clueless about potential job prospects upon graduation. In today's highly competitive society, it's crucial for students to define personal goals early on; choices regarding education and career are intertwined and closely linked to students' futures. Therefore, students should start career planning from high school, actively explore their options, and make careful decisions. 

Without proper career planning, students may face negative impacts on their life and future prospects, including frustration in further education, low self-esteem, and significant tuition costs for studying abroad, often affecting the relationship between students and their families. Since each student's background, personality, interests, abilities, and values differ, our career planning coaches collaborate with each student to explore directions for education and career development. Through assessment tools, interviews, and discussions on various life-related topics, we aim to understand each student's strengths and potential career interests. Moreover, our interviews increase students' awareness of different industries. Students should choose based on their personality, interests, and aspirations while remembering "ideals first, reality second"—facing reality if ideals are unattainable. 

Many parents and students ask, "What do you think is suitable for my child in the future?" The answer often depends on the student's personality traits and strengths. For example, how would a more introverted student perform in frontline jobs like public relations, hospitality, customer service, etc.? For students sensitive to numbers, are they suited for careers in accounting, finance, marketing, or economics? What industries should students with strong language skills consider? 

All our study abroad consultants are graduates from overseas, understanding the actual living conditions, environmental challenges, and various difficulties abroad. Additionally, most consultants have completed the Global Career Development Facilitator course taught by the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, obtaining global career planning certifications from the American Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) and the National Career Development Association (NCDA). They collaborate with each student to explore educational and career development pathways, helping students recognize their personalities and interests early on to discuss suitable career directions and further plan their educational journeys.
